TICKTON WOLVES U10 1 v 2 RANGERS TIGERS U10

Rangers battled to a hard fought victory against a very good Tickton side. Steven Janny in goal was in magnificent form producing a string of stunning saves. In front of him Ben Everitt and Antony Parr defended strongly and with great discipline. Rangers lost Jessica Woodley with a knock early in the match and she was replaced by Gavin Bell making his debut. Tickton took the lead when a quick breakaway from a Rangers corner left it 2 on 1 at the back and the Tickton forward made no mistake with his finish. Rangers immediately pushed forward with Alex Colman and Gavin Bell attacking well down the wings and Zimmie Sutcliffe controlling the central midfield area. Thomas Hickson was not giving the Tickton defenders any time to relax and started to link well with the midfield. Rangers equalised when Hickson collected the ball in his own half, he turned and ran strongly before passing to Bell whose first time cross was met at the far post by Colman. Rangers quickly took the lead when Bell again provided Colman with an inviting cross which he smashed into the back of the net. A very long second half had chances at both ends. Tickton tried hard for the equaliser but could find no way past the impressive Janny. This was a very good team performance with Parr and Everitt outstanding in defence.
