Bridlington Rangers 21 v 0 Hutton Cranswick Pumas

Rangers Goal scorers: S Wardle (7),J Butterfield (6), J Christlow (3), T Keeping (2), A Heathcote,
A Rennoldson, A Ykhlef.

The first game of the New Year saw Rangers start as they finished last year and scored within the first 20 seconds. Rangers could have had several more goals within the next five minutes but squandered many chances and had to thank Taylor in goal for making a fantastic save one on one with the Cranswick striker which turned out to be their only attempt on goal in the entire match. Rangers then stepped up a gear and eventually went in 6 goals up at half time which could have been doubled but for some excellent goal keeping from the Cranswick keeper. The second half again saw one way traffic with three goals being scored from open play and then two corners within two minutes of each other resulting in Heathcote and Rennoldson both score with headers. Ingram then played a through ball to Ykhlef who cut in from the by-line and shoot across the goal into the far corner. Wright and Everett were solid at the back and were rarely troubled with the latter putting Keeping through scoring his second of the game. Butterfield had an excellent game scoring six goals the best a superb strike from 30 yards which had the keeper grasping thin air. Christlows pace was too much for the Cranswick defence and he rounded off the game with a fine hat trick. Wardle was in tremendous form passing defenders with his skill and pace and finished the game with seven goals to his credit.
