AFC PRESTON v BRIDLINGTON RANGERS
Graham Waters Plumbing Services Ltd and Scott's Butchers
sponsored Brid Rangers took a grip of the game from the start and Rob Waters
blasted Rangers into the lead in the second minute. Superb passing and movement
opened up Preston almost at will and it was no surprise when Rangers went
further ahead with another good Waters goal. Preston where not there just
to make up the numbers and put together a period of determined pressure
which was snuffed out by a strong Rangers defence in Jones, Train, Parr
and Osborne. Wright in the midfield along with Clay settled play down and
a fine cross field ball from O'Grady set up Midgley who took the ball well
and neatly slipped the ball under the advancing keeper. Rangers fourth came
from a fine finish by O'Grady from close range. The second half saw Rangers
dominate play and Waters complete his hattrick and then add two more to
take the score to 7-0. Rangers then sent Stuart King out of goal up front
and sent Waters into the goal but Rangers continued to pass the ball around
and O'Grady finished a magnificent display of 5 assists by netting his second
of the afternoon. Jack Tyes midfield play was second to none battling throughout
the game. Garth Young and Jamie Carter came on and made an immediate impact,
both going close with some well stuck shots. Micheal Parr came on and fitted
well into the right back position making some well timed tackles and setting
up things down the wing.
