FINAL SCORE: RANGERS 9 v 5 STAMFORD BRIDGE
Graham Waters
Plumbing Services and Scott's Butchers sponsored Rangers took on a strong
Stamford Bridge side who play their football in Division 1 of the York Minor
League. From the start Rangers pressed and Waters blasted home Rangers fastest
goal of the season within 48 seconds. Rangers then scored again five mins
later when Waters fired home Rangers second after a good through ball form
the midfield. Stamford Bridge have won promotion twice in the last two seasons
then brought a goal back when a well worked moved was finished well. Jones,
Midgley and Wright all battled hard for Rangers and from a corner Waters
completed his hattrick with in 15mins. Rangers fourth came from Midgley
who's work down the left started and finished the Rangers move. Jack Tye
scored his first of the season from another Rangers corner making it five.
Rangers dominated play and Peacock made it six shortly before half time.
Jamie Osborne , Tom Parr and Micheal Train worked well in the defence and
Osborne saved Rangers blushes with some timely tackles as the team pressed
for more. The second half saw Water claim his fourth and fifth to take the
score to 8 v 1 , as Rangers foot came off the peddle Stamford Bridge pulled
two quick goals back before Waters scored his fifth. As the game went on
Stamford Bridge began to play some good football and scored twice more before
the final whistle.
FINAL SCORE: BRID RANGERS 9 v 5 STAMFORD BRIDGE
Man of the Match: Jamie Osborne and Rob Waters.
Coaches
Comments: This was always going to be a game of goals with two good attacking
teams, Rangers got the upper hand early of and never really looked like
giving it up, despite a late flurry by Stamford Bridge. Well played lads
next week is our biggest game of the season away v Tigers Cooperative in
the League Cup.
