BRIDLINGTON RANGERS v ENDIKE EAGLES
Graham Waters Plumbing Services Ltd and Scott's Butchers
sponsored Brid Rangers Rangers started the stronger team and where up for
the game this week, Peter Jones led from the back getting some hard tackles
in along with Andy Clay to stop any Endike attacks as they began. Adam Wright
and Micheal Harvey's strong play in midfield was rewarded when an early
ball saw Rob Waters send the ball just wide of the upright. In Endike first
real attack of the game a dramatic dive after a tackle brought Endike a
penalty which was well placed and left the Rangers keeper no chance. This
Spurred Rangers on Jack Tye and Ian Midgley both worked tirelessly and each
and every Rangers player was playing for the team. Jamie Osborne and Michael
Train where both strong and reliable in defence as was Rob Waters and Garth
Young up front for Rangers. It was Rob Waters who leveled the score for
Rangers after 25mins following a Garth Young through ball and Rangers dominated
much of the play up to half time but the goal for them to take the lead
wouldn't come. Rangers looked strong in the second half and sub James Peacock
made an immediate impact heading home a long Adam Wright Free kick. Stuart
King had one his best games in the Rangers goal, although not that busy
he was always switched on and made sure every save was the correct one.
A searching ball by Rangers release Ian Midgley who skipped some tackles
and then laid the ball through to Peacock who couldn't find the finish.
Wayne McLintock joined proceedings following a 2 month layoff through injury
and worked hard in the midfield, Endike got themselves back into the game
and drew level with 10mins to go. Rangers continued to work hard and could
have taken the lead when Waters raced to the near post but was tackled as
he took his shot which then fired over the bar. Matthew Strathern replaced
Waters up front for the remainder of the game and made some good pass's
and went close when an early ball and shot was well saved by Endikes keeper.
Final Score: Bridlington Rangers 2 v 2 Endike Eagles
MOM:- Whole team for some fantastic football and 100% effort throughout.
COACHES COMMENTS:- A hard fought point and one which we really deserved, we almost had all three points but we must not be disappointed with this game. A wet and slippery pitch led to tired legs as the game went on but every single Rangers player today made me proud to be their Manager.
