Brid Rangers Sharks 8 v 1 Brid Rangers Eagles

It is always hard playing against your stablemates and on Sunday it was no different when the Sharks played the Eagles. The first part of the game was evenly matched with James Fletcher scoring his first goal for the Sharks and Conor Spencer equalizing for the Eagles but then the Sharks players decided that today was going to be their day. Lawrence Pearson started the day in goal but later ended up having a great game as a centre back, along side Sam Jones who was snuffing out every Eagles attack. The midfield of James Fletcher, Jon Pearce and Dan Wilson were all having good games with the finishing prowess of Lewis Grosse up front it made the Sharks into a very solid looking unit. The passing and movement was probably the best it has been all season and due to the strength and ability of the Eagles players it had to be. At half time the Sharks were leading 5-1 with the best of the goals coming via five passes, a run and cross from the wing by Fletcher, having his best game for the Sharks yet, and a clinical finish from Grosse. The second half continued in the same vein with the Eagles fighting for every ball, they will not play as good again and get beaten, but the Sharks continued to play flowing football and finished the match off with another three goals to end the match 8-1. The game was played in good spirits, every player on both sides deserves a mention, Ainsleys three saves were outstanding, and it just proved what good sides Bridlington Rangers have at this age group. Scorers: Grosse 5, Fletcher, Male, O.G.
