HULL BOYS SUNDAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE U18’S DIV 3.

HEDON RANGERS V BRID RANGERS U18’s

Brid Rangers went into this game trying to claw back some of Cottingham Rangers lead in the league and take back second place form Hedon.

In a tightly fought game both teams played some entertaining football, but it wasn’t until the 23rd minute that Hedon broke the deadlock. It was Brid that then pressed hard and a rocket shot by Sam Gray from 25 yards levelled the scores but 10mins later after a mix up at the back Hedon netted their second. Sean Tyers and Stuart Kings midfield play opened up another chance for Gray who again netted a low powerful drive to level the scores once more. Michael Train and Adam Wright in there new roles of Ctr backs worked hard on a sticky pitch but couldn’t prevent Heddon nicking the one goal lead they then took into half time.

Peter Jones joined the game in the second half along with Jamie Osborne following some good passing and movement Rangers shooting wasn’t quite up to speed today and it was Hedon who further increased the lead. Brid where not to be out done and a superb dribble and run saw Ben Towers nip in to reduce the lead to one goal.

With only few minutes on the clock Rangers where caught on the counter attack and Hedon finished the game off with their fifth goal.

FINAL SCORE:- Hedon Rangers 5 v 3 Brid Rangers

MOM:- Sam Gray for some superb goals and hardwork on the left wing.

Coaches comments :- This was a tough game with the team mixed up a little and players playing out of position, but credit to everyone who played they gave a great account of themselves, we play Heddon again at home in a couple of weeks where we can try and reverse the result well tried.
