But a determined Preston team scored on 15mins to take the lead again. Rangers defence of Osborne, Parr and Train battled hard to get Rangers back in to the game and with a break down the right from Train came a long diagonal ball into the path of Ben Towers whos diving far post header leveled the scores again on 25mins.

Rangers started to then get more of the play neat passing between Gordon, Wright and Towers then set up Waters for his second of the game. Rangers pressed on further when Parr latched onto a well driven corner and netted Rangers fourth. Preston not to be out done again launched an aerial attack which led to a free kick 25 yards out which re bounded off the cross bar and back to what appeared to be an off side Preston player but the play was waved on and the Preston pulled a goal back.
