Bridlington Rangers v Mill Lane United

Graham Waters Plumbing Services sponsored Bridlington Rangers came into the match full of confidence following last weeks win at Endike. This was the first meeting of these two teams and Rangers went on the attack from the first whistle, surging runs down the right wing by Scott Lapworth and some good movement up front set up Ian Midgley to finish sublimely after 7 mins with a good low strike from 8 yards out. Then followed great pressure from Rangers who passed the ball silkily through the team, Sean Tyers and Adam Wright again working hard to create the openings and it was that man Midgley who netted Rangers second 5mins later with another good strike.

The game was being controlled by Rangers with Lapworth feeding the strikers it only seemed like a matter of time before Rangers would score again. Waters went close and Garth Young's effort was well blocked, but it was Mill Lane who scored the next goal. Rangers not to be deterred by this pressed on and gained a third by a powerful header from Waters 6 yards out on 38mins increased Rangers lead.

Then the goal of the game came after superb build up play Waters cut inside and unleashed an unstoppable 25yard drive into the Mill Lane net to give Rangers a well deserved 4 - 1 Half time lead.

Rangers and Mill Lane battled out the opening few minutes of the half and it was a plucky Mill Lane who netted first on 9mins . Peter Jones and Andy Clay worked well as a new partnership in the center of defense and from this came Rangers fifth on 25mins when Waters broke free to net his Hat-trick with a lovely headed shot. Rangers piled on the pressure, Jamie Osborne and Michael Train where solid as ever at the back. Danny Gordon joined the game on 28mins and with in 4mins had netted Rangers sixth following a near post corner in which a quick turn and shot put Rangers out of sight. Jack Tye and Luke Crozier also played their part today, Midgley and Waters both had further chances but it seemed six was enough for today.

Final Score: Bridlington Rangers 6 v 2 Mill Lane United
