RANGERS LEGENDS v BRIDLINGTON RANGERS U18's

This was the most talked about match of the season, a young Rangers U18's team taking on the might of the Brid Rangers Management team. Who would come out victorious, who would claim the ultimate title of Rangers supreme champions?

The game started well with the U18's playing the ball around well but a a stern Management defense led by Jennison and Saunders Tindle kept the U18's to long distance shooting. But with 8mins gone a quick turn in the box saw a Harvey accidentally tug on the U18's shirt who then tumbled to the ground and claimed the penalty, after collecting his Oscar, up stepped Towers to net the U18's first of the day. The Legends then got into the game and through Dave Johnson leveled the score. Another very close decision, when Jennison accidentally clipped the U18's striker who was through on goal, they where awarded another penalty which was placed past Leady in the Legends net. Danny Gordon blasted home a 25 yard left footed drive only to see it re bound off the upright, as did Sam Gray.

The second half saw the Legends press forward and level the scores 8 minutes in when a well worked move led to Ray Irwin slipping the ball under the advancing keeper. As the weather got worse, the rain came down and the Legends began to feel sorry for the U18's, giving them a little more time on the ball, ( It wasn't that they were tiring or anything of course ) and a superb strike by Clay from a long free kick netted U18's second. The U18's then began to press forward and netted two more before the end.

This was a Friendly game played in a most sporting manor, both teams showed commitment and but for the weather it was a successful evening. Well played to everyone and thanks for turning out on a very wet and cold evening.

The legends maybe back in the summer if the U18's are upto the challenge.
