AFC HOLTBY v BRIDLINGTON RANGERS
Graham Waters Plumbing Services Ltd and Scott's Butchers
sponsored Brid Rangers traveled to Hull for this a difficult tie against
a team lower in the league but who haven't had the luck in some recent games.
Rangers midfield pairing of Tom Parr and Ian Midgley began to control the
game on this a very narrow pitch playing some neat pass's out to Micheal
Harvey and Jack Tye who both played some good balls into the box but Matthew
Strathern and Rob Waters couldn't find the net. Rangers did take the lead
when a 40 yard drive from Tom Parr flew in over the Holtby keepers head
giving him no chance. This spurred Rangers on and they went close again
with two shots form Waters both flashing across the face of the goal and
just wide. Another attack saw Jack Tye lay a great ball through to Strathern
who controlled the ball well turned and blasted the ball home. In the second
half Rangers began to play some lovely one and two touch football opening
up the Holtby defence and following s stoppage for an injury on Waters he
got back to form and neatly slotted home Rangers third and five minutes
later their fourth, Peter Jones, Micheal Train, Andrew Clay and Jamie Osborne
all looked strong at the back and as the game went on played their part
in putting more and more pressure on Holtbys 9 man defence. A half cleared
corner lead to Rangers fifth when Midgley drove the ball low and hard form
18 yards out. Michael Parr joined the game midway through the half and worked
hard up front as did Rangers goalkeeper Stuart King whose quick reactions
averted any Holtby attack as it happened.
Final Score: AFC Holtby 0 v 5 Bridlington Rangers
MOM:- Tom Parr for great performance in midfield and defence.

COMMENTS:- A good team performance today with a squad changed around due
to injuries and illness every player who came in played at the highest level
to ensure Rangers stay joint second in the league, one point behind Batemans
