HEDON RANGERS v BRIDLINGTON RANGERS

Graham Waters Plumbing Services Ltd and Scott's Butchers sponsored Brid Rangers began the game well with some lovely football. Good passing and movement form the whole team saw Rob Waters drive a low shot at goal early on but a good save from the Hedon keeper denied the opening goal. Rangers continued to press in the new midfield due of Micheal Harvey and Andy Clay, both working together for the first time since a warm up injury forced Adam Wright to pull out of the game prior to kick off. Waters then O'Grady and Harvey all went close for Rangers but it was O'Grady who's persistence along with Harvey forced the opening goal on 15mins. Brid Rangers continued their hard work when Waters crossed a superb ball into the far post only to see the shot well saved again by the Hedon keeper. O'Grady further increased Brid's lead when a hard shot spilled through the keepers hands and into the net. Tye and Midgleys hard work on this narrow pitch opened up Hedons midfield and defence but on a counter attack Brid where caught napping and Hedon pulled a goal back. Brid from the kick off attacked and waters restored Brid's two goal lead 2 mins before half time. The second half saw Waters taken off early on with a gash to the knee which later needed hospital treatment, but hopefully he will be fit for next week. Brids defence of Jones, Parr, Train and Osborne rarely looked trouble and as the half took shape Hedon then where blitzed when Harvey blasted home Rangers fourth with a fine turn and shot, O'Grady then set up Tye to volley home Rangers fifth and Harvey then from 12 yards made it six. O'Grady finished off his afternoons work with Rangers seventh. Tom Pickering made his Brid Rangers Debut working well and fitting into the team like he'd been playing all season. Garth Young and Jamie Carter also joined the game midway through the half and both showed some fine touches. Harvey and Clay continued to work well battling for every ball and Harvey almost completed his hattrick but had the shot blocked on the line.

Final Score: HEDON RANGERS 2 v 7 Bridlington Rangers

MOM:- Micheal Harvey and David O'Grady both for hardwork and great shooting in front of goal.

COACHES COMMENTS:- A great game following a bad result last time out, ' a great footballing side' , was the comment from Hedons Manager after the game. This was a superb result which takes us 5 points clear of Thorpe Park who we play next week. Well played to everyone in the team as this was a great team effort.
