sponsored Brid Rangers had to battle hard in this thier second fixture in
two days. Rangers started the brighter with Waters and Tye going close but
the woodwork and some great saves from the Tickton kept the scores level.
12mins inti the game Tickton took the lead against the run of play and soon
afterwoods Rangers tired legs where caught again and tickton took a 2-0
lead. Ian Midgley and Jack tyes work rate was second to none today and as
Rangers weather the Tickton pressure they then began to creat their own
chances, O'Grady and Waters both going close but it wasn't until th 35min
that Harvey layed the ball off to Tye to bring Rangers a goal back HT 2-1
to Tickton. Rangers came out the stronger and within 5mins of the restart
levelled the scores when a deep cross by Waters was headed home by Harvey
at the far post. From the kick off Rangers where caught knapping and Tickton
took the lead once more. A battling Rangers team kept up the pressure and
Pressure from Clay, Harvey and O'Grady saw Rangers level the score once
more through a Waters shot. The Rangers team looked jaded following yesterdays
game but actually became the stronger team as the half went on and in the
78min Waters scored again to give Rangers a hard earnt victory against a
well organised Tickton team.
Final Score: Tickton FC 3 v 4 Bridlington Rangers
MOM:- Jack Tye and Ian Midgley for strong committed performances.
COACHES COMMENTS:- Rangers struggled at times today but a strong team spirit helped Rangers through this difficult tie and the whole team showed lots of charatcer to come back from a goal down 3 times to then finally take the win. Well done everyone.
