BRIDLINGTON RANGERS v TICKTON FC
Graham Waters Plumbing Services Ltd and Scott's Butchers
sponsored Brid Rangers started the stronger team today, win most of the
midfield battles and working as a unit when defending was needed. Peter
Jones led from the back along with Michael Train, and Ian Midgley. Tom Parr's
presence and Adam Wrights return to the team gave Rangers a renewed confidence
to control play and make some great attacking moves. Rob Waters went close
when a perfect long cross in from Micheal Harvey was volleyed just wide
of the upright. Rangers broke the deadlock on 17mins when a swift attacking
break from a Tickton attack saw Waters take on a blast the ball home. Rangers
went further ahead 10mins later when another Tickton attack broke down Waters
took the ball down the left wing cut back and crossed a perfect cross in
for Andy Clay to make it 2-0 Rangers at half time. Rangers became the stronger
team as the game went on sometimes playing against four attackers but no
midfield. Rangers should have made it three but brave goalkeeping kept the
score down. Stuart King on a couple of occasions needed to be alert and
made it hard for the Tickton forwards to get a shot on goal. It was a team
goal the third started by Ian Midgley and Micheal Harvey on the left a charge
into the box by Waters and a layoff for James Peacock to place in the opposite
top corner. Waters finished the scoring with 15mins to go with a low drive
in from the right. Jack Tye and Garth Young both worked for the team closing
down and tackling back well. Luke Crozier and Micheal Parr joined the game
late on but looked confident and both performed well.
Final Score: Bridlington Rangers 4 v 0 Tickton FC
MOM:- Peter Jones for a strong Captains performance both in defence and midfield.
